When you’re strolling down the soft drink aisle scanning the shelves filled with 82 million cans and bottles and trying to find your six-pack of Coke, what do you look for? The scripted logo or that familiar red can?
People decide whether or not they like a product in 90 seconds or less. 90% of that decision is based solely on color. So, a very important part of your branding must focus on color.
Which brings me to my next point. Most children color with crayons, and crayons are waxy and make uneven lines, as opposed to color pencils, if you get what I mean. Coloring with a color pencil? You get practically the same thing that you get with a lead pencil. Coloring with crayons? You get stuff like: “oh crap, I totally miscalculated that stroke. I meant to color outside the eye but because my crayon is so huge, I colored inside it”. Minor mistakes, really, but it gets worse if you use crappy crayons. Cough cough Roseart and crayons that the dentist gives you.
When coloring a picture, the child must fit in a certain area, which develops his motor skills. By exercising your small hands, your toddler will be able to paint over even very small areas over time.
Self-Expression – Some children like to express themselves through words, while some prefer to use art. If a child draws the sun, hearts and other cheerful objects, then he may be expressing content and satisfaction. Every person expresses themselves differently, and many children are visual in nature. Coloring is a proven therapeutic task for some children, especially if they do it frequently. They vent their feelings, frustrations, and other emotions though this art form.
Stimulates Creativity – Coloring gives children an opportunity to express their creative side. It allows them to think about different color combinations they can use to create their own unique picture. Do not get upset if children are not coloring properly or if they choose to color outside the lines. Teach children how to fill a space and color in different directions. Whether they stay in the lines or not, coloring fosters a creative spirit and an appreciation for visual differences. Coloring can spark the imagination and inspire children to brainstorm and learn to think of new ideas on their own naturally.
